There are some winter flavours that always feel personal, and khejur gur is one of them. Every home has its own way of enjoying it — some like the warm, runny jhola gur with fresh chire, while others wait for the solid patali blocks to arrive so they can break a piece and taste it right away. The liquid one is taken directly from the date palm tree when the sap is still warm. Nothing extra is added. The colour stays naturally golden-brown, and when you open the bottle, it has that unmistakable winter smell — a mix of smoky sweetness and a bit of earthiness.
