Eichhornia crassipes is a floating aquatic plant, its English name is Pontederia crassipes, scientific name Eichhornia crassipes, commonly known as কচুরিপানা.
Calming the mind with a touch of light purple and yellow, this flower is widely seen in Bengal's river channels, canals, and ponds, but its original habitat is South America. It arrived in Pakistan and India in the 1800s by an orchid lover. Pontederia crassipes have seven different species. Some of the kochuripana species germinate even after 20/30 years, the floating part on the water is long up to one meter, this tree grows very fast during the rainy season and doubles in 1 week.
